Where is Hurricane Milton now?

Hurricane Milton has weakened into a post-tropical cyclone after crossing Florida and is now moving into the Atlantic Ocean. However, forecasters warn that hurricane-force winds and rain are still impacting the eastern parts of the state. This storm follows closely on the heels of Hurricane Helene, which caused significant damage across the southeastern U.S. Nearly 3.4 million homes and businesses were without power by Thursday morning, and at least four fatalities have been reported along with numerous homes destroyed.

Warnings of torrential rain, flash flooding, high winds, and potential storm surges of several feet continue for Florida’s northeastern coast. Additionally, around 130 tornado warnings were issued statewide, with Florida Governor Ron DeSantis confirming that at least 19 tornadoes had touched down in the area, as noted by Florida’s chief financial officer, Jimmy Patronis, in a BBC interview.
