Nigeria’s U-17 women’s team, the Flamingos, secured a thrilling 1-0 win over hosts Dominican Republic in the 2024 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup, with Shakirat Moshood scoring a stunning 89th-minute goal.
The victory, their third straight, puts Nigeria at the top of Group A. Despite an earlier offside ruling, Moshood’s powerful 25-yard strike marked her fourth goal of the tournament.
Coach Bankole Olowokoore praised the team’s performance and thanked supporters for their backing.
