“NCoS Clarifies Bobrisky’s Claims of ‘VIP Jail Treatment’ in Private Apartment”

A senior officer from the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS) has addressed allegations made by Nigerian crossdresser Idris Okuneye, popularly known as Bobrisky, about serving a jail term in a “private apartment.” In a recent video, activist VeryDarkMan shared footage in which Bobrisky claimed to have bribed Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) officials to dismiss a money laundering charge. Bobrisky also claimed that a “godfather,” along with Haliru Nababa, the NCoS Controller General, helped him serve a six-month sentence in a private setting rather than in prison.

In an interview, the NCoS officer clarified that the so-called VIP treatment referenced by Bobrisky was actually part of a special facility designed to accommodate specific prisoner needs based on health, age, gender, and other factors. The officer explained that these accommodations are standard for individuals whose conditions warrant specific facilities, such as ventilation for those with high blood pressure.

Notably, the officer stated that the NCoS had never before handled a case like Bobrisky’s, describing a unique circumstance where he identifies as female from the upper body but remains male in the lower body. Due to the unusual situation, Bobrisky was placed in a separate cell to ensure safety and prevent abuse, which he mistakenly referred to as a “private apartment.”
