Tension has risen in Rivers State as suspected arsonists reportedly detonated explosives at the All Progressives Congress (APC) state secretariat on Saturday morning, just hours before local government elections.
The blast, believed to involve dynamite, damaged the main gate, security post, and parts of a nearby building. Chief Tony Okocha, chairman of the APC caretaker committee, blamed supporters of Governor Siminalayi Fubara for the attack.
