President Bola Tinubu has introduced new fuel pricing options for Nigerian motorists, allowing petrol at ₦1,000 per litre and Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) at ₦200 per Standard Cubic Meter. This was announced during a meeting with Nigerian Independent Petroleum Company (NIPCO) executives at the State House in Abuja.
Tinubu highlighted the significance of public-private partnerships in promoting cleaner energy solutions and praised NIPCO’s efforts in its “Switch to CNG” campaign.
He also announced incentives for commercial motorists to convert from petrol to gas at no cost. NIPCO’s director, Mr. Ramesh Kasangra, expressed gratitude for the president’s support and committed to enhancing CNG accessibility through infrastructure investments.
