“I’ll make you disappear without a trace, and no one will notice or care about what happens to you. Do you have any idea who I am?” These chilling words were spoken by Alex Mascot Ikwechegh, a member of the Abia House of Representatives. He directed this threat toward a delivery driver who was simply trying to do his job. The incident escalated when the driver asked Ikwechegh to step outside to collect his package. Instead of responding reasonably to the request, the politician resorted to intimidation, repeatedly hurling insults and threats at the driver. This encounter highlights not only the abuse of power but also the alarming way some public figures can mistreat those in service roles. The driver, caught in a tense and uncomfortable situation, found himself facing the wrath of a man who, due to his political position, felt emboldened to act with impunity. The shocking nature of the incident raises questions about the behavior of elected officials and their responsibilities toward the public.
